JMJ Educational Institute, Sirsi
Chipgi village in Sirsi taluk is situated in the upghat section of the Uttar Kannada District. The town of Sirsi is 6 kms from this village and the district high way from Sirsi to Hubli passes through this village. Sirsi taluk is predominantly a forest and plantation area.

God has millions beautiful and life-giving tree and plants of various colours, patterns and statures in his lovely garden.
He plants and enjoys them grow and blossom. He grafts and develops hybrids. He has planted the Society of J.M.J in the garden of the Church in 1822, through the person of Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolf in Holland for education of young girls. On February 24th 1904, Seven Dutch Missionaries, made a humble beginning in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh India. Now our institution has spread far and wide. We have different kinds of apostolates in 38 districts, 11 states and I union Territory. On the invitation of the Bishop of Karwar, the Congregation of Jesus, Mary, Joseph started in Chipgi village of Sirsi Taluk a high school for rural student's in 1922 and an exclusive college for the girls in 1995. The Congregation also runs a hostel for the girls. High school and college are rare privileges for the rural students of about 21 villages of Sirsi Taluk in the vicinity of Chipgi.
